Cat Talk

A Well Read Cat, Balanchine

First there was dust then

Cold cold cold.

Wind raging.

The men came and they cleaned the yard and they fixed the underground smells.

I hid inside today and found where She hid the biscuits.

She always points the new clicker box at us.

She says she can't get a good pic of Balanchine because he closes his eyes.

Balanchine likes to think.

He doesn't meet and greet people like me and Sylvio.

There are new things in the garden.

Our Boy Stanley

Yes and I always make friends.

They cleaned the back weeds.

One person said,

'That cat is pregnant!'

She said

'No he's not.'

She said,

'He's fat.'

I am digesting this.

Muchness

Stan:

The world is wet it went, from dust rolling casual on fur and then all around

to water soaking dripping wetting paws.

Today I'm inside.

When cold winds came she let us stay open door out back.

Zorro tipped the milk.

She was cross we boys need party sometime.

Watch through window.

Zorro hid. I coul-don't fit that hide.

She went away, came back, Zorro slow, full of milk, my tummy grumbling.

No milk today.

Hot cloths and the lavender smell like the carpet.

We try not to mark the trays well kept,

but she cleaned the kitchen recently and we got to work.

She doesn't pee lavender but it strong cat smell.

There is some spraying in places we talk to pee-wise.

A New Angle On Witless

There's been a lot of study, a lot of work.

We cats have been plenteously supplied with food, Chicken and Cans from Anna, Fish from Paul and a few things we pinched from the Fridge.

Yum.

Since we hear that Fred has won a bit of a competition, Grace has decided also to compete.

She went to sleep beside Zorro with her head between her back legs.

True.

Witless

This is our Fred, born to gentle Greyling along with Sylvio, Baby, Grace and Zorro. Fred was happy to find a home with the sweet white Feather and there is a big album of photographs of these two whiskery ones. We always knew that gentle Feather is special but Fred has shown us how special a cat can be!!!!

He's famous now, is Our Fred and he's won Our Clan a most fascinating book which apparently is all about cats and some people who get bossed around by cats, well so they say....

Many people asked how much Yoga had Fred practiced to gain the Noted Prize of Tom Cox's book Under The Paw, a book which is spelled out in Tom's Blog, The Little Cat Diaries!

Now we can reveal that it wasn't so much Yoga which Fred was performing in the notably witless posture which was caught by the camera. It was simple pleasure.

When Fred had lived with Our Clan, he was a shy boy who hung around at the edge of things and rarely even asked for a pat or any special conversation.

So he was pleased and surprised to find himself to be a Special Cat at home with Marah and David. Marah had a dream where Fred arrived looking like a shy kid especially to say Thank You and how very happy he is to be Fred in a New Big Place.

This is Our Fred in the Photo which won for himself and Feather a wonderful Catnip Toy.
And for the two legged kinds of Us all about, we got a copy of Tom's beautiful book.

There were some people who asked how Fred managed to undulate himself to the extent that he did for the photograph.

Fred isn't a head butter, he's a head rubber who just loves to have his little head rubbed and sometimes if he's in a VERY good mood, he'll just rub his own head if he's pleased to see you. The Photograph simply caught him rubbing his little black and white head on the step.

Fred was just a little bit overcome by his sudden fame, so much so that he ran onto next door's roof and cried a bit. He didn't come down until the neighbours climbed up to check to see who could be making so much noise, so then he ran across to his home roof and back yard and then he hid for awhile.

Princess

This girl is a cat of cats.

She is proud.

When she lived in Melbourne, and her owners brought a dog to the place, she went underground.

When there was bullying which spread to Catland, she went bush and stayed away from food and water in a dry violent cold autumn time. Back then, She who began this blog after all those events, found Princess, noticing the little comical white nose & gorgeous colours at the back of the house up lane while doing Bush Regeneration work.

That was when Her old world fell apart which is Some Story. It was at that time Princess came to stay with Her and was a comfort indeed as worlds became more isolated.

Somewhere there are photo's of Princess as a kitten. She's being cuddled by my niece, a kitten herself back then and now a young woman on the edge of a career and many possibilities.

The miouw of Princess is hoarse and coarse, and still she loves it when folks stop and talk to her.

My sister works with old folks and she says that Princess sounds like an old lady these days, but Princess doesn't care. Warmth and love and care and gentleness are all that she deserves and finds.

She sleeps in the bathroom, it's easier to clean and whenever anyone goes to the loo, that way she can creep upon a lap.

Princess Ariel still spends some time on the front verandah on sunny days and she goes to the front fence to speak to her many friends when they call her name.

Me, I'm trying to remember the Princess age, she must be close to twenty recently.

When these wintery days are too cold or too windy, our Princess will stay in our warm bathroom on her little electric blanket. It's true that she'll have a bit of a throwup sometimes and so fresh towels must be constantly supplied but who cares? This gal is a miracle of survival.

It's more difficult for her to clean herself, her tongue isn't so raspy as it was when she was a younger cat and so she has a special brush. Her bright fur is still glossy.

She definately needs her cuddles every day.

When she goes to the verandah in recent times, she understands at last that not all cats will attack her.

When she lived Up Bush, She was being attacked and His cat also attacked Princess. It was a place of dire luck

These days, Princess finds her spot on the Verandah. Stanley, Sylvio, Ballanchine, Grace and Tabs all establish their own individual spots on our wide verandah and none of them attack her, our Princess, our old one. Some times Princess will hiss at them and say a bad word or so and the younger cats will retreat a little. They know she won't attack them.

We have a peaceful home.

However the cold can get to the old bones and the wind is sometimes uncomfortable and sometimes Princess stays inside and lets She change the towels and the poo box and then she scratches on her branch brought inside and yawns a bit, & she rests her old bones and dreams dreams which cause her to purr.

So many people love this old cat.

Cat Caves

"We Loves Them!"

Sylvio

"Me talk to a dog? That's a Laugh!!!"

So Roscoe is taking his burly old dog Mouse for a walk and he sees Sylvio watching the world from the front verandah.

Well Sylvio loves it when people say Tcch Tcch Tcch to him because it's Sylvio talk for

"Someone wants to pat me."

Sylvio likes Roscoe ever since the first tummy rub during kitten time.

So Sylvio goes to the fence for a pat.

It's a matter of head butt, head butt, head butt, cos Sylvio likes to help the patting process....

And this goes on for some time with a lot of writhing, with appreciative little mrrr's and many purrs and Sylvio is near to getting the very best patting and petting of the day when suddenly he happens to looks down.

There is Big Dog Mouse, patiently sitting and waiting for the rest of his walk.

So Purrs and Mrrrs and ecstatic slithering go right off the menu, the fur goes fluffy and what follows language-wise is the worst that ever Mouse has heard.

It's best to get on with walking they decide, as Sylvio retreats (all fluffed up).
