'Am hiding from Ariel'
The Occasional Together Time
Last night, She was out late, talking with Herman The German and Roscoe about many things, so she explained as she came through our gate to meet our disapproving stares. We were cross.
She opened the door, She turned on the little ceiling sun, She put the blocks of wood against the fridge door, She set to cleaning and, in our opinion there was not enough apology.
Baby found Grace already inside in the kitchen and decided that it was all her fault. Grace doesn't get jumped very often because she screams. Baby doesn't mind making Grace yell, but it gave the rest of us a fright and we all fled back outside, then the fright spread to Grace and Baby and they fled too.
She was obviously at fault but she told us we were Bad Cats in view of Grace and She wasn't going to feed us until Grace comes back.
What She didn't know was that once Grace was outside with us, we weren't cross any more as we are if she is in and we are out, especially like today when bacon was cooked and Luci and Grace got treats.
She walked up the lane calling Grace who was hiding out with us.
She came back inside, she brought Tabs and Princess inside and fed them.
She was grumbling when she opened the back door again.
Well if she leaves some of us inside during day time, of course she's going to have to clean the trays again.... She gets crosser if we don't use the trays.
(Luci got some scratches from Black Tom recently and is now too frightened to be outside with us in daytime when Black Tom visits.)
Some times, we think She likes people better than us, but She shouldn't because we can always surprise Her.
She grumbled when eventually She let us in, saying that Baby shouldn't jump Grace and make her scream because now Grace will be out for ages and it's a good night for TV and it isn't fair and everything. She put our plates on the fresh newspaper and well, it was Tin tonight and She puts a tiny bit on one plate and a tiny bit on another plate so that we all move around which She says is so Stanley doesn't gobble everything which he will if he can. Then She seemed to go around doing things before She counted us.
Yes, we may have been too hungry to notice much ourselves but Grace, frightened of her own shriek had hidden with us, come inside with us and done the little run around the plates with us.
Perhaps She needs new glasses.
